Welcome to this month’s episode of Relaunch My Life Radio.
In this podcast, I follow the simple format of the DREAM LIFE DIARY, an ode to my very first ever blog that I started over a decade ago now
DREAM – provides an update from my life and some lessons I’ve been learning recently.
LIFE – A mindset tool or tip to help YOU in your life.
DIARY – Some simple journaling tips to direct your thinking and support you in your journey for the month ahead.
I see so many women stuck in the cycle of trying to ‘figure it all out’—only to feel more lost than ever. Do you ever feel like…you always feel like you should be ‘further ahead’, or you keep questioning if you’re on the right path or You struggle to slow down and enjoy life?
If that’s you, you’re not alone, and today’s episode is going to help you breathe a little easier.
So let’s dive in!
DREAM – It’s been a big few months honestly. I have received so much feedback from people who were activated by my Egypt podcast, and it’s still integrating powerfully for me.
The key things I’ve noticed shifting for me in the past few months have been a clearer sense of boundaries, I’m talking – my life is a drama free zone. There is just no space for it. I am more intentional with my time and energy than ever before, and living life in alignment with my values.
Last month I deleted all social media apps off my phone and I can honestly say I can feel my brain changing and rewiring. I feel more present, more self-aware and have WAY less head noise.
I also have been doing a lot more healing of my mother wound, through navigating infertility and there have been some beautiful developments.
One thing I actually didn’t realise was how much grief my own mother had to process around my infertility.
She thought we would share my pregnancy and birth of my children, and it would be such a special time. So this month we had a big chat and I suggested she apply for a volunteer program with me that I had been thinking about applying for, working with kids overseas in Fiji for a week. She immediately jumped at the challenge and we both got accepted into the program and are going together in May. I am starting to accept that my experience of parenting is just going to look different to everyone else’s. And that’s okay.
This conversation was a breakthrough for both of us—and it reminded me that healing isn’t just about ourselves, it’s about the people we love too.
I’ve also recently joined a volunteer program with Meals on Wheels to help the older generation write their life stories and an Intergenerational morning where I help the elderly do activities with young kids. These elements of meaningful contribution are adding so much depth, joy, fulfilment and perspective to my life.
And last month I also had the absolute pleasure of meeting Elizabeth Gilbert and seeing her talk in Adelaide.
She shared so many golden insights, and one of my favourite sayings she shared was ‘the calmest person is the person who holds the most power – the power to be available to life’s mystery as it unfolds.
Elizabeth Gilbert also speaks about something called ‘purpose anxiety’.
Elizabeth Gilbert said one of the big mistakes we make is trying to get all 4 things in one single purpose. We try to blend a hobby, a job, a career and our calling. That’s a lot of pressure to get all 4 from one thing. If you separate them, it can reduce the pressure on you – and your purpose!
Hobby – just joy, it enriches your life. No monetary gain.
Job – it pays the bills, you don’t have to enjoy it!
Career – this is the job you pour your energy into and are passionate about
Calling – this is sacred. If you have one you’ll know it. It doesn’t have to be monetised either… it’s when you feel close to God.
So purpose anxiety is the idea of being so focused on living your purpose that perhaps you miss the whole point of life. The small moments. And I think it’s a great reminder to take a breath, to zoom out and look at the bigger picture.
So, have you been trying to put pressure on yourself to get all 4 of these things in one? What would happen if you separated them a little more?
LIFE –
On the subject of anxiety, my episode titled ’58 Tips on overcoming Anxiety’ is one of my highest rated, so I thought I’d dive a little deeper into that concept today.
As someone who struggled with anxiety for many years I wanted to share some key reminders, and in the life section of this podcast I help you get clear on a few things you can do to let go.
I can remember in my mid twenties frantically trying to heal my anxiety, I cut out coffee, I started meditating, I started a journal but I was driving home one night after work and it honestly felt like my heart was going to explodre it was palpitating hard now. It might sound strange now but I honestly believe it was my soul trying to wake me up to the fact that I wasn’t on my path.
One of the biggest shifts I made in my journey was learning how to rewire my subconscious thoughts, emotional patterns that I was addicted to and also heal my subconscious associations to labels —and that’s exactly what we teach in our Evolved NLP training.
** I’m going to interrupt this episode to let you know that our next Evolved NLP training is happening 12-18 May.
This exact training gave me the confidence to quit my job and do what I’m doing right now. People often don’t realise the impact taking 7 days to work on clearing your subconscious doubts can have on your entire life and potential!

Now, let’s talk about the labels we put on our feelings—because they might be holding you back. You see, we have a sensation in our body which is a direct experience of reality. Then, we label that sensation. Often the label has associations (either negative or positive).
Sometimes that sensation I actually a cluster of feelings, and it’s easier to label it as anxiety and then palm it off as that, rather than enquire deeper and explore the feeling. When we avoid feeling a feeling, it gets bigger. If we explore the feeling, we can be present with it (and ourselves) and unravel it.
We live in a culture of abandoning ourselves emotionally and noticing the sensations in your body rather than giving them labels can be a helpful process.
Often, we are feeling anxiety and it’s a warning from our subconscious mind that we are not focused on what we want. We may be thinking about the future and imagining things going wrong. So I’m going to walk you through a simple process now.
**
If you’re not driving, and in a safe environment then follow this simple process.
- Notice where you’re feeling the anxiety in your body. Notice the sensation, what does it actually feel like?
- Now, imagine something in your future you’re worried about. A specific event.
- Imagine floating out past that event and looking back at the now, but from the time and place of it all going well and you getting out alive.
- Notice what happens to your body and the sensations when you do that, often the feeling drops away.
- This can be a powerful practice to do.
The other quick tool I used constantly when I was younger and healing my anxiety was to simply close my eyes and say to myself ‘ Breathe In Calm’ and ‘Breathe out worry’. It’s amazing how this simple self hypnosis process with your breath can make such a difference.
Your thoughts and self talk are influencing the way you feel, and most peoples inner dialogue is not condusive to a relaxed and calm nervous system.
Remember your psychology influences your physiology and your physiology influences your psychology.
I believe whatever challenge you’re experiencing right now is your medicine for growth. And most people try to medicate away their medicine.
Are you getting the medicine life is bringing you? Ask yourself, what is this challenge here to teach me?
DIARY –
This month I want to invite you to journal about my 5 keys to fulfilment from my book, Relaunch My Life.
- VITALITY – How would you rate your health and vitality and what’s one thing you need to do to improve it?
- VICTORIES – What’s something you have achieved in the past few days you’re proud of. It can be anything, even something small.
- VARIETY – Have you been repeating the same things day in day out? Whats one thing you could do this week to add some variety to your life? Go to the beach at sunrise, call that friend, try the local dance class?
- VALUE – What is most important to you (your highest value in life)? And how does you taking a few minutes each day to connect to yourself like this support that value?
- VISION – What’s your vision for your day, week, year, life? Write this down in as much detail as you can and read it daily.
If you only do one thing this month, let it be this: take five minutes to answer these journaling prompts. I promise, they’ll shift your perspective in powerful ways.
Would you love to dive a little deeper on what’s blocking your fulfilment? As a special offer this month I’ve created a quiz to discover what’s actually blocking your fulfilment. You can download it via the link in this episode and it will give you some practical steps to help you get unstuck today.
Remember, fulfillment isn’t something you chase—it’s something you create, moment by moment.
Keep showing up for yourself, and I’ll see you next month.
