In this section I share a small snippet or update from my life to share some learnings

Rather than an update from my life, I wanted to let you know why my book and Podcast is called Relaunch My Life.

Almost 10 years ago you may know that I turned my entire life upside down. I started again. After a series of wake up calls I completely relaunched my life from working in the corporate 9-5 in a passionless marriage to ending my marriage and starting my very own coaching business.

In the blink of an eye my entire reality had transformed. Of course for me living every minute it felt natural. But on the outside people were amazed at how quickly I transformed.

I went from being an alcoholic, chocaholic and workaholic to suddenly helping people fulfil their dreams and I even met my soulmate along the way…

My story inspired people so much so that I frequently had people ask me how I changed my life so quickly. So, I put it all into a teaching memoir, my best-selling book Relaunch My Life which you can read on Audible, Kindle and Spotify too these days!

To be honest, it still amazes me how much my life has transformed. Today I help writer’s self publish their own Amazon best selling books, host my annual writer’s retreat, and help people completely transform their beliefs in our NLP Practitioner and Masters trainings which I teach alongside my partner in business and life, Paul.

So this month, in the life section of this episode I am going to share the things that gave me the biggest transformation in my journey. So let’s dive in.

LIFE

In this section, I guide you through an NLP, Coaching or Hypnotherapy tool to help you apply to your life.

The first thing I did was I started keeping a journal. I literally started writing my thoughts down every single day. And after a while, as your self-awareness shifts you’re bound to notice patterns. For myself, I counted the word ‘overwhelmed’ in my diary over 20 times in the space of one week. I immediately realised that was contributing to my anxiety and started working through all the things in my life I was feeling overwhelmed about.

The second thing I did was take FULL control of my life. In our Evolved NLP training we explain how the areas you aren’t fully fulfilled in are usually areas that you’re not fully at cause. That is, where you’re still blaming others for how you feel and what you do. Unfortunately, so many of us give our power away to other people. When you do that, you actually disempower yourself. So, one of the biggest things you need to do if you truly want to live your best life is take control of your life. Whether you’re a business owner, a parent or someone wanting to evolve, you are in control of your mind and therefore your results – nobody else.

I remember when I stopped drinking alcohol. People in my life told me I was boring.

The third thing I did was start to do the DEEP inner work. I dove right in. I left no stone unturned. I realised the more I shifted and cleared in myself the better and easier my life flowed. I went all in. So much so that 6 years ago I also became a trainer of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), one of the tools (alongside our Evolved Hypnotherapy) that completely transformed my self belief, coaching skillset and abilities to create personal change.

I would suggest that the best commitment you can make is to yourself and the inner work.

Last week I was interviewed on a podcast about one of my favourite quotes, and it’s actually one I’m going to paraphrase by Robert Kiyosaki. He says ‘The easy road in life gets harder, but the hard road gets easier.’ Personally my life has improved dramatically the more I’ve taken the uncomfortable road inward. I see many people try to avoid doing the inner work, and it usually ends up pretty hard long term.

I believe most people are stuck in patterns of self-denial and blaming others for their results. The reality is, as tough as it might be for me to say, you are the only person responsible for your own happiness!

This is a really important reminder.

I mean, if I live to the average age expectancy of 85 for women, I only have 17,000 days left. How many do you have? Are you going to live them living a life you love or a life that is for others?

DIARY

In this section I provide some journaling and self-reflection activities:

  1. This month I want you to journal at least one page of your thoughts. No judgment, just thoughts. Jot them all down. You can even start with ‘how are you?’. It might seem strange to start in the 3rd person, but it’s a great way to allow your subconscious responses to flow.
  2. Who or what have you been giving your power to by blaming them or it? Think about the areas in your life you aren’t achieving your goals. This is potentially an area you aren’t entirely empowered.
  3. What is 1 thing you can do this month to commit to your inner work?
