In this section I share a small snippet or update from my life to share some learnings

In my final Podcast for 2023, I shared the fact that my intention for 2024 was Paradigm Shift… and February has been no exception.

This month, we settled on 2 brand new investment properties, a project that has been in place for several years. It felt so surreal to stand inside the places we had only ever seen drawn on plans and we have tenants already moving in this month.

Paul and I travelled to Bali to present at a business conference…and we bloody nailed it. It was a dance between Paul and I and we loved having the freedom to present about business mindset to a room full of entrepreneurs hungry for growth and success. We presented together so in sync. We knew what each other were going to say and it was a real joy to deliver side by side and make an impact to all these amazing leaders in their respective industries. I love meeting people who have had different experiences with NLP and helping them realise there is a completely different path we follow at Evolve and Relaunch. I even heard a comment recently that NLP doesn’t work… and my response was ‘saying that NLP doesn’t work is like saying that Bunnings (or a homewares store if you’re overseas) doesn’t work because you can’t build a house. NLP (just like Bunnings) has all the resources and tools and it’s up to the skill of the individual and understanding and experience to know how powerful they truly are.

I’ve also been doing my regular artist’s dates as a part of my Birth Your Book book club, the Artists Way and they’ve been helping build my creativity and flow in so many different ways. Next month I’ll be releasing details about this year’s Writing Retreat in August.

This weekend for my artist’s date I went to Womadelaide (World Of Music Adelaide) and as I sat listening to an amazing 81 year old Brazlianan artist on his farewell tour, I looked around and really reflected on the subjective nature of our reality. 30,000 people were at the same festival, but no two people had the exact same experience.

In the Education arm of our business, Paul has started a brand new advanced training on Shadow Dynamics for our Master Practitioner of NLP students, and to say the training is deeply impactful for me would be an understatement!

There’s a lot happening and shifting in my world as usual and what I’ve been learning this month is about the fact that sometimes it’s not about the amount we are doing, but how grounded we can be in the process of it all.

We released a brand new ‘Overcoming Overwhelm’ training to the public and have so far helped hundreds of people through their overwhelm, and I’m sure this has helped me too.

In this section I guide you through an NLP, Coaching or Hypnotherapy tool to help you apply to your life.

This month I am sharing 3 simple ways you can have more impact using NLP concepts.

First, I want you to think about what that even means for you? What would it mean if you had more impact? And how would you know if you did?

1. Get out of your own way.

Stop shutting yourself down, and lift yourself up instead! Who are you still listening to inside your head? Is it your voice (your own self-talk or someone else’s?)

What happens if you turn the volume down on that, or change it to a funny voice instead? Our mind replays majority of our thoughts on a loop from the past. So if you can scramble that tape replay then you can shift the thoughts into something far more meaningful.

2. Let go of caring what people think!

You truly are the only person who has to live every single day in every day in your life and in your shoes. So make sure you’re making the right decisions based on your values and what matters most to you.

Whose opinion matters to you? In which ways do you judge yourself?

For a moment imagine yourself standing on a bridge and see that there is someone blocking your path. Think of the first person who comes to mind.

Now imagine telling that person to ‘back off’ or ‘your opinion doesn’t matter to me’ or whatever you need to do and see that person fade away.

Now walk across the bridge.

This simple visualisation can start engraining new pathways of potential in your mind.

3. Let go of overwhelm and worry.

One of my favourite all time quotes by Alan Watts is ‘No amount of anxiety makes any difference to anything that’s going to happen.

Too often, our projections of the past and future take us out of the present and cause us to procrastinate. They can cause us to put ourselves in shut-down and overwhelm. For a moment, imagine something you’ve been feeling worried about in the future. Now, imagine going out to that event in the future and looking back and seeing how you handled it and it all going well. How different does that feel?

You can access our Overcoming Overwhelm training completely free (it’s valued at over $500) by clicking the link in this episode. And please, share it with a friend who needs it! Our mission is to help over 1 million people evolve through our online courses and content, and this free mini-course is part of that mission.

In this section I provide some journaling and self-reflection activities:

  1. What would happen if I stopped shutting myself down?
  2. Who else would benefit in my life if I stopped shutting myself down?
  3. Lastly, what does it actually mean for you to have more impact? How would you define what ‘making an impact’ or ‘making a difference’ really means to you?
